The stoning of Goodluck Jonathan’s first campaign stop in the northern, predominately Muslim, state of Nassarawa is yet another sign of Nigeria’s polarization around the 2011 elections. The piece also quotes a political observer who suggests that this portends future anger in the North about Jonathan’s candidacy, and in the South against Buhari’s.
